Devils vs. Rangers: Devils 1 Win Away

The Devils can close out the rival Rangers and score their fourth victory in the Eastern Conference Finals.

When the puck drops on Game 6 in Newark, NJ it will be the first time in the entirety of this playoff series that the Devils enjoy a one game lead.  Ahead 3-2 in a best of 7, they can punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals and take on the Los Angeles Kings.

Game 5 did not showcase the best of perhaps the two top goalkeepers in the league.  Henrik Lundqvist  stuggled first.  After giving up a "seeing-eye shot" that slid just under his collapsing knees, he was unable to regain his composure before New Jersey slipped two more by him.

Martin Brodeur would fall next as he allowed the Rangers to battle back from three down for the first time all season (regular or post).

Though New York tied the game, the deficit proved too large to completely surmount and the Rangers would not score again despite a fourth New Jersey goal.

The Rangers are now on the ropes and will need a victory tonight in order to force a Game 7.
