Marvin Jones Fantasy Football Week 9: Best Free Agent Pickup After Breakout WR Game With 4 Touchdowns

The fantasy football week still has a bit more to go, but the breakout player and prime pickup star for Week 8 heading into the next stretch into Week 9 is Cincinnati Bengals receiver Marvin Jones, as he had a career day with Andy Dalton in the win over the New York Jets with four touchdown catches and now he is the top waiver free agent pickup and sleeper for this week.

The game was a complete wash for the Jets at Paul Brown Stadium and the Bengals were completely dominant from the beginning and held the team to field goals in the 49-9 victory and by the end it was backups all day for the teams and Jones finished with a ridiculous game. The Bengals took apart the defense for the Jets and Andy Dalton had a career day as well with 325 yards and five touchdowns and now Jones is a true number two option after consistently being a solid target over the past few weeks and we predicted here that he could be a potential sleeper on Sunday and he clearly was just that and anyone who had the chance to start him likely won unless they were playing against someone with Calvin Johnson, as he finished with over 300 receiving yards in his game, yes that many.

Jones had a fantastic game from the start for the Bengals and he finished the day with eight catches on all eight of his targets with 122 yards and that marks his first game over 100 yards in the last four and he finished the game with an amazing four touchdown receptions, the most for a player this season and one was particularly impressive, as he made a catch on the sidelines in the endzone and he was able to quickly get one foot in and before he was pushed out of bounds, replays clearly showed that he was able to drag his foot and with him making some great plays, the Bengals and Dalton now know they have another talented receiver that they can trust in opposite AJ Green and now fantasy owners can as well.

Jones has actually been one of the most consistent receivers in fantasy this month, now scoring six touchdowns during the calendar of games and he has added now another score in three consecutive games, as he had one in each of the last two weeks. He has missed on more than two of his targets in each of the past four weeks and that is something to notice meaning he and his quarterback are on the same page and Jay Gruden clearly has faith in him as well. Jones had four catches last week and he now has 15 over his past three games and in that span he now has a whopping six touchdowns and he should expect to continue to produce.

For fantasy owners in leagues with Jones, he is a definite pick up and for owners of Jones, it isn't a bad idea to try and sell high when a player has a ridic performance and if your team is lacking at another position or you have a glut of receivers, this is a perfect deal that could help an owner make a fantasy championship run.
