NFL Trade Rumors: Josh Gordon, Hakeem Nicks and Tony Gonzalez Deals To Patriots, 49ers and Chiefs Most Rumored, Only One Has Real Chance Of Happening

The NFL isn't usually known for its intense trade deadline like Major League Baseball, but this season there has already been two high profile trades with Trent Richardson and Eugene Monroe and based on some reports, some others could be brewing on the horizon, including with names like Josh Gordon, Hakeem Nicks and Tony Gonzalez being the players mentioned.

While deals for these three players make sense when you look at them hard enough, realistically only one of them has the chance of going down, as Gonzalez and Nicks likely won't be moved, while the Browns have shown they are willing to deal after trading away Richardson. Looking quickly, deals involving Nicks and Gonzalez make some sense, but the Falcons are not ready to give up on the season and the Giants are not ready to concede the idea that they won't be able to sign Nicks in the offseason.

The way the Giants are shaping up, many feel that trading Nicks and not signing him is a good idea, considering they have weaknesses in many other places now, they realize how important Nicks is to the offense. The team locked up Victor Cruz first and while Eli Manning has a big contract and signing Nicks would put a lot of money at those positions, Jerry Reese and company see what type of game changer Nicks can be when he is on and fully healthy. The team should try to make him an offer and while they are 0-6 and probably could get something solid for him, they might be better off holding onto him.

Chiefs fans are hoping the Falcons have given up at 1-4 this season, as Atlanta could trade the tight end back to the team where he starred for many years, but he has already quashed those rumors. On top of that, the team isn't completely out of the playoff race, as they could get into the wild card since the South division is likely gone with the Saints up 5-0. Gonzalez has enjoyed his time with Atlanta and he came back to play there and he isn't the type of player to bail out or to demand a trade, so that likely won't happen either.

Rumors have been surrounding Josh Gordon all season and on ESPN they speculated that he could go to the 49ers after they dealt with injuries at the position. Gordon is a speedy receiver that the current Browns regime did not draft and if they feel like they can get more picks, like they did with the Richardson deal, the Browns may feel it's time to make a move. Gordon is the most likely of the three to move and as a betting man, I'd put money on that.
