Sunday Night Football Results: Cowboys Win, Final Score 36-31 as Giants Turn Ball Over Six Times

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants in Sunday Night Football's matchup, 37-26. Thanks to turnovers from the Giants, the Cowboys hung in just enough to escape with a victory in a game that went down to the wire.

Eli Manning finished with three interceptions, none costlier than the one picked up by Brandon Carr. Da'Rel Scott, who couldn't turn around for a screen play, deflected the pass right into Carr's hands. He took the ball and ran it back for a 49-yard score.

For a brief second, Cowboy country seems to be in a better place at the start of the season. The Giants' running game is too wounded to make a solid contribution. Meanwhile, the Cowboys did as much as they good with the opportunities given.

The Giants turned the ball over in three straight possessions to start off the game. Fortunately, they were only down by three points at the half. Eli Manning had two interceptions and David Wilson also had two fumbles in the game. Tom Coughlin had seen enough and Wilson was once again put on the bench against the Cowboys in the season opener.

Romo and the Cowboys were cruising early on. Despite suffering an injury at the end of the second half, Romo rallied his Cowboys back on offense. He was backed up by a huge lead as Barry Church ran back one of Wilson's fumbles for the score. Church's score made it 17-10 after the extra point, but the Cowboys were not done.

After the Giants could not do much in their next possession, Romo took the Cowboys to the end zone, giving Dallas a 17-point lead. He hit Jason Witten for a four-yard touchdown, his second of the game, basically icing the game with in the third quarter.

However, Victor Cruz became a pest late in the game. He had an 18-yard touchdown and then helped the Giants make it a one-possession game with a 10-yard grab. Cruz finished the game with 118 yards and three touchdown grabs.
