Serena Williams Wins US Open 2013 Over Victoria Azarenka In Grand Slam Final (SWR Predictions)

The US Open is finally getting down to the end and with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic looming in the men's final, the same seed matchup is playing out on the women's singles side with Serena Williams playing against Victoria Azarenka and our prediction has the American winning the slam for the second year in a row.

Williams has looked dominant throughout the tournament and has had an easier way against her opponents than Azarenka and that could mean she will be dominant again on Sunday. Williams put up a 6-0, 6-0 win in the quarters that was fantastic and them she defeated the tough Li Na in the semifinals and now she sets up another showdown with Azarenka, who defeated her in the finals in Cincinnati and now the two top women's stars will face off again and it should be a great tournament finals.

Williams has the advantage in head to head matches with Azarenka and the 24-year-old has been beaten plenty of times, with a 12-3 record in favor of Williams and Azarenka comes in losing just once in the last three meetings, including that final in Cincy. Serena has been looking great on her service games and the best way for Azarenka to win will be to attack early and often, but it will be tough to take down Serena with the way she has been playing. Williams has been on a streak since losing at the French Open last year and she has just been playing some of the best tennis of her career and that is why she will WIN her FIFTH US Open Grand Slam title against Azarenka this year.

Williams has just been too good on her serve and the only way for Azarenka to win will be to give herself some early break chances. Williams has a killer return going the past two weeks and Azarenka may try and angle her out of points with her serve and that might give her enough to win. Williams has lost less than 20 games in the tournament so far and she has been dominant all tournament, winning three straight sets at 6-0 and now she will play the toughest opponent she has faced in this tournament in Flushing.

Williams defeated Na, as well as Sloane Stephens on her way to the finals and amazingly she has lost just four times this year and that streak will continue through the US Open. She has won eight times already on tour this year and during her streak since last summer, Williams has won 95 times while losing just five times and she will have a tough test with Azarenka, who was able to play her to three sets last year and that is likely what will go down again on Sunday.

Williams is ranked as the best serve player on the women's side and Azarenka has a very above average return and that is likely where the match will live and die for Azarenka. Williams has been so dominant this year at the tournament and after looking so good in her last couple matches and Azarenka having to play tougher ones, Williams will win it out on Sunday.

Prediction: Williams wins over Azarenka in three sets.
