Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Free Agent Sebastian Telfair Becomes Possible Signing After Lakers Express Interest In Point Guard

As the Los Angeles Lakers look to finalize their roster as they prepare to enter training camp and the preseason. As of now there are more players than the maximum allowed by the NBA to enter the regular season with, which is 15, they'll obviously need to cut down before submitting their final roster before the season opener.

As of now, multiple reports suggest that the Lakers have shown interest in adding depth to their backcourt, and according to Alex Kennedy from HoopsWorld.com, the franchise has shown interest in veteran point guard and free agent Sebastian Telfair.

As of now this is only the "interest" phase, and it may be a stretch for the Lakers to add a fourth point guard on their roster. However, last season the team had four point guards, and that position still has complications to it mainly because of injuries.

Telfair, 28, played for the Toronto Raptors and the Phoenix Suns last season, averaging 5.6 points and 2.6 assists while shooting 35.3 percent from the three-point line.

The Lakers have also shown interest in shooting guard Xavier Henry, according to ESPN.

Henry was drafted by the Grizzlies at 10th in 2010 and is 22-years-old. Henry had some big games while a freshman at Kansas, scoring 27 in his first ever collegiate game, and was the first freshman at Kansas to score at least 30 points since Paul Pierce.

Henry is expected to receive and invitation to the Lakers training camp at the very least. If signed he can provide some insurance until the time that Kobe Bryant is back to 100 percent.
