Real Madrid continue their preseason preparations with a game against Inter Milan in St. Louis Saturday.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the show as Real ran out winners in the Champions Cup with a 3-1 result over Chelsea recently.

Carlo Ancelotti will be keen to give his star-studded players another run out against Inter come Saturday.

"We have done good work," Ancelotti told KMOX radio. "There's work left to be done, but we have taken some very interesting steps for the season.

"I ask the players for a competitive spirit, professionalism, and to be aware at all times that they belong to a club with impressive prestige."

Ancelotti was all praise for Ronaldo, who he believes is the perfect role model for youngsters.

"He is an example for the youth," he added. "He has everything a football player needs to be great. And he is. He's great, a really fantastic football player. He's an example for the young players on the team."

Ancelotti had earlier expressed his confidence that Ronaldo, who has two years remaining on his current contract, would sign a new deal with the club.

"I don't know when the renewal will take place as it is a question that doesn't correspond to me, but what I can say is that Ronaldo will remain in Real Madrid and he will extend his contract," the Italian said.

"It is a question between the club and the players and a lot of work has been carried out in the past few days. He wants to stay and the club want him to stay, so I don't think there will be any problems when it comes to reaching an agreement."
