Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs Agree $11 Million Deal for FC Twente Winger Nacer Chadli

Tottenham have agreed a move for FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli, the English Premier League club confirmed.

Chadli will officially complete his move after agreeing on personal terms and completing a medical with Spurs reportedly paying Twente a fee of around £7 million ($11 million) for the 23-year-old.

"We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with FC Twente for the transfer of Nacer Chadli," the club said in a statement on their official website.

"Subject to personal terms and medical, the Belgian international winger will join up with the squad for preseason training in Hong Kong next week."

Chadli made his name at AGOVV Apeldoorn, before switching to Twente in 2010, where he gradually enhanced his reputation as an effective winger.

The midfielder will become Andre Villas-Boas' second summer signing, following the big-money capture of Paulinho from Corinthians.

Spurs are also in the hunt for a new forward and are reportedly set to make a bid for Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.

Meanwhile, Villas-Boas was all praise for some of the Spurs youngsters who were given a run out in the recent preseason friendly against Colchester United.

The likes of Kevin Stewart, Zeki Fryers, Cristian Zeballos, Nabil Bentaleb, Laste Dombaxe and Shaq Coulthirst were all given an opportunity to shine by the manager and Villas-Boas could not have been happier with some of the performances.

"It's been a good opportunity for them," Villas-Boas said.

"I have to say Zeki Fryers, for example, did well as a central defender.

"Shaq came on and showed good tactical discipline, Laste's performance evolved from Swindon as well.

"All of these minutes with the first team are important for their confidence for the future and it also gives the fans to the chance to see them."

Tottenham play their next preseason game Wednesday in the first match of the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.
