NBA Free Agency News: Spurs In Talks With Andrei Kirilenko, Golden State Sign Veterans Jermaine O'Neal And Tony Douglas

The San Antonio Spurs are rumored to be exploring the opportunity of acquiring free agent forward Andrei Kirilenko in a sign-and-trade agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Although the Spurs are willing to offer a multiyear deal for Kirilenko, Minnesota general manager Flip Saunders has shown little interest in assisting him in securing a significant financial contract elsewhere. Kirilenko opted out of the $10 million owed him in the final year of his contract and has been searching for a multiyear deal.

Though Kirilenko remains to be a target for the Spurs, the franchise has reached agreement with two free agents, guard Marco Belinelli and forward-center Jeff Pendergraph in the meantime.

Other signings in the Western Conference include the Golden State Warriors agreeing to a one-year deals with backup center Jermaine O'Neal and backup point guard Toney Douglas. The $2 million deal for O'Neal and the $1.6 million contract for Douglas can't become official until Wednesday.

The Warriors also signed first-round pick Nemanja Nedovic after reaching a buyout agreement with the Lietuvos Rytas team of Lithuania.

After losing the Dwight Howard race, with their newfound money the Warriors were also able to agree to a four-year, $48 million deal with Andre Iguodala. However, things turned out better than expected with the deal as they were able to include the Utah Jazz in a three-team trade that prompted Denver Nuggets to make the Iguodala transaction a sign-and-trade deal that cost the Warriors only a second-round pick.
