Wimbledon 2013 Results: Sloane Stephens Wins, 20-Year-Old Advances to 4th Round

No. 17 seeded Sloane Stephens advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon after defeating Petra Cetkovska in three sets. It wasn't the easiest match for Stephens, but she was able to maneuver her way around a troubling second set to remain alive in the tournament.

Cetkovska made Stephens work in their match. It took a tiebreak to decide the first set, which Stephens won 7-3. The first set was dictated by unforced errors. Cetkovska had 12, while Stephens finished with 10. The troubles continued for Stephens in the second set as Cetkovska was able to correct her mistakes. She committed only three unforced errors, while Stephens committed a total of seven in the second set. Things went so bad for Stephens that she couldn't win a game in the set, therefore losing 0-6.

However, Stephens was able to bounce back. She won the unforced errors battle 12-15, which enabled her to sneak out with the third set and the victory. The final set finished 6-4 in favor of Stephens.

For the first time in Stephens' career, she will be playing in the fourth round at Wimbledon. With a victory in the fourth round, she will advance to her second career grand slam quarterfinals. Stephens will face the surprising, Monica Puig. Puig was responsible for eliminating Sara Errani, the No. 5 ranked player in Women's Singles. It will be a fourth round matchup of 20-year-olds as Puig and Stephens have bright futures in Women's Singles tennis.
