Tim Tebow Angels MLB Draft Possibility Shows Why New England Patriots Signed Quarterback, Star Gives Bill Belichick Explosive Offensive Weapon In 2013

Tim Tebow is with the New England Patriots, but what could have happened if he was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels to play baseball, as that was a likely option when the quarterback was in high school with the team scouting him as he played the sport as a young man.

According to Fox Sports, Tebow once was considered as a draft pick by the Angels out of high school, as the area scout where Tebow played saw him and said that the team did want to take him. Scout Tom Kotchman said that Tebow never sent back his information card, meaning the team wouldn't look at him on their draft board and while that didn't work out, it didn't mean that Tebow wasn't a possibility.

The report says that he hit nearly .500 with four home runs for his high school team in Florida and brought the team to the last four of the state playoffs. Tebow was very successful in high school, winning a championship at quarterback and he nearly did it in baseball as well. Tebow was committed to football though, as he went to Florida during the spring of his senior year to get started early. Red Sox Florida scout Stephen Hargett said that Tebow had the tools to get drafted and that he had a good swing and a good arm.

Tebow obviously ended up playing football and that worked out well with the Heisman trophy and the national championships. Tebow was eventually drafted by the Denver Broncos and then traded to the New York Jets, where the team barely used him and he ended up with 102 yards rushing and 39 passing and now he is signed to a two year contract with the Patriots, making the Jets look even worse.

The fact the Belichick took him to the Patriots and the baseball report shows why the Patriots were interested, as Tebow is very talented and has a special set of skills. He may play quarterback for the Pats, but he could also end up on the field in some interesting spots and only time will tell on that.
