NFL Injury News: Texans Arian Foster Carted Off The Field After Suffering Strained Calf Muscle During OTA's

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster left the organized team activities Tuesday by way of a cart after suffering what is described as a strained calf muscle.

NFL.com is reporting that Foster had ice on the calf as he was carted off the field. As of now it's unclear the severity of the injury and how much time Foster will miss with the injury, but fans can expect the Texans to use extreme caution as the deal with their star back.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said they will know more about the injury once Foster sees a doctor, and that it's "always concerning" when a player is injured during practice, but that he has to continue to work on everybody in order for the team to continue to improve.

Texans star wide receiver Andre Johnson, who too has suffered his fair share of lower body injuries, tried to downplay Foster's injury saying he doesn't believe it's a cause for concern.

"I don't think it's anything serious where anybody should be worried or something like that," Johnson told the Texans' official website. "I think if it was, he would've said something. You can tell when it's something serious. I've been around it long enough. So, I'm sure he'll be fine. Just give him a little rest; he'll be back out there."

Foster has been the driving force for the Texans success for the past three seasons. He led the NFL with 351 carries last season, earing 1,424 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.
