Tim Tebow Jacksonville Jaguars Rumors: Owner Shad Khan Fascinated By Quarterback After White House Fan Plea As Television, Bears, Browns and New England Patriots Best Options

The Tim Tebow saga took a strange turn over this past week after a bunch of Jacksonville Jaguars fans put up a "We the People" petition asking the President to get the team to sign the quarterback and after all the attention, team owner Shad Khan is interested-in the fans at least.

According to the Daily News, Khan is "fascinated" with the fan fascination and intrigue on Tebow and despite the fact that the team isn't planning on signing him, he is interested in the quarterback and what he brings to the table. He was just named the most influential athletes in America and he also boasts over two million Twitter followers and even though the team has not wanted to bring him in, it could be a way to get fans interested in the franchise again. The report spoke with Khan Tuesday at the NFL's Career Development Symposium and he said that the petition was one way that people expressed their love for Tebow.

When he was hired, general manager David Caldwell said that he would not look into signing Tebow is he is released and now that he is a free agent, the team has continued on that line and so far has not budged. Tebow would likely bring in more money and fans in the seats, but the team is unsure if he would bring winning to the field. The team is comfortable now with Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne, but depending on how tings go over the summer, there is a chance they could go after Tebow.

Khan said he was very interested in the questions about Tebow and his team and the fervent fans that love him and want him to come there. The team added a franchise left tackle in Luke Joeckel in the draft with the number two pick and he could give Gabbert the protection he needs, as he is nearing the point where the word "bust" will be thrown out a lot.

Khan spoke about supporting Gabbert and despite the fact that the team did try to trade for Tebow before the Jets swooped in, he is happy about how the team is coming together. The Jaguars added a new head coach in Gus Bradley and are ready for a new era in which they will play games in London over the next four years. The trade from the Broncos to the Jets did not work out for Tebow, as he was barely used by the team and ended up with just 102 rushing yards and 39 passing yards on the season while being used mostly as a decoy, punt protector and blocker.

"We're looking for the best players obviously for us that help us win," Khan said. "How many players are in the NFL? I would assume it's 90 X 32 at this point, right? So, ballpark about 3,000 players, correct? Why one player? ... Why do you ask about one player? What about the other 2,999? Because I'm fascinated with that.
