Yasiel Puig Arrested In Tennessee For Reckless Driving And Speeding As Los Angeles Dodgers Cuban Prospect Nabbed In Chattanooga With No Insurance

Cuban defector Yasiel Puig is one of the top prospects in all of baseball, but the Los Angeles Dodgers star still has some learning to do, as he was arrested for reckless driving, speeding and driving without proof of insurance in his minor league city in Tennessee on Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, Puig was arrested past midnight on Saturday after being pulled over by authorities and Sgt. Daniel Jones of the Chattanooga Police Department said that the player was serving as the designated driver when he was taken in. Jones said that he was going twice the speed limit in the area.

The Dodgers have high hopes for their prospect and general manager Ned Colletti said that the team will handle things internally with the player, who is 22-years-old and from Cuba. While playing in Double-A in Chattanooga he is hitting .333 with three homers in 13 games after signing a seven-year, $42 million contract with the team.
