NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs 2013 Standings: Alex Ovechkin and Martin St. Louis Win Scoring Awards As Chicago Blackhawks Corey Crawford and Ray Emery Take Goalie Trophy

The NHL playoffs are set to begin after a fantastic, but shortened season and after all the competition, a few players stand out on top, as Alex Ovechkin and Martin St. Louis took home the scoring awards at the end of the year, with Ovechkin taking the Maurice 'Rocket' Richard Trophy and St. Louis finishing as the scoring champion.

According to NHL.com, Ovechkin won his third award for leading the league in goals, while the Tampa Bay star finished the season as the scoring champ for the second time in his career. The season ended with the makeup game for the Bruins on Sunday against the Senators and the goalie award was split between Chicago goaltenders Corey Crawford and Ray Emery for allowing the least amount of goals in the league, taking the William M. Jennings Trophy.

St. Louis took the Art Ross Trophy with 60 points, ahead of Steven Stamkos, Ovechkin and Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby, which comes after he won the award in 2003 while scoring 94 points and the award for Crawford and Emery came after allowing just 102 goals on the season. Ovechkin scored 32 goals this year during the lockout-shortened season and a number of other players were in contention, but he had a strong finish to take the award.

The New York Rangers made it into the playoffs as the sixth seed after winning 10 times over their final 14 games and the Red Wings and Wild made it in out West after fighting with the Blue Jackets over the end of the season. Detroit kept its two decade long postseason streak alive by making it.
