Dwayne Johnson Emergency Surgery For Hernia Injury From WrestleMania Sidelines 'Pain & Gain' Actor As WWE Star Tweets Pictures From Procedure (PHOTOS)

Movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is known for how tough he is and the WWE champion proved that again on Monday, as he went through abdominal surgery to repair an injury that he suffered against John Cena.

According to the Associated Press, Johnson needed the procedure after his match earlier in the month against John Cena at MetLife Stadium for WrestleMania. The match on April 7 gave Cena the title from Johnson and left the Rock with some lingering injuries, including a torn abdomen and abductor muscles. Johnson wrote about the procedure on Twitter and his operation forced him to miss the premiere of his new movie "Pain & Gain", directed by Michael Bay.

Johnson was set to walk to red carpet and was instead stuck in the hospital. Johnson stars with Wahlberg in the film and despite missing the premiere the surgery was successful. The Rock later wrote on Twitter: "Surgery a success! Dr repaired 3 hernial tears (fun pain). Superman is on the mend.. #WeFallWeRise."
