United States Ryder Cup golfers Zach and Dustin Johnson have decided to pull out of a Korean event in South Korea this week due to the political tension and unrest between North and South Korea in the region.

According to Reuters, the golfers will drop the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea due to the political posturing and tension between the two sides along with the UN sanctions that were also imposed on the northern part of the peninsula. Reports said that more military missiles were moves along the coast and the two golfers decided against the tournament just two weeks after the Masters. The loss of the Johnson's leaves Louis Oosthuizen as the top ranked player at the tournament, which starts on Thursday and will give a price of over $2.5 million to the winner.

The event is in Seoul and as North Korea goes ahead with missile launches, the American golfers figured it would be best to stay out of harm's way in case anything else should occur.
