Lionel Messi Ready For Barcelona Champions League Semifinals First Leg Against Bayern Munich Tuesday After Hamstring Injury

Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world and after dealing with some injury issues at the end of the year he is ready to return to action in time for the Champions League semifinals against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

According to SI.com, Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said that despite Messi sitting out on Saturday's 10- win in La Liga play against Levante, he is ready to play on Tuesday. Although he was not given the medical clearance to play, he was on the squad for the match at Allianz Arena and will be ready for the match at Munich on Tuesday.

"Messi is with the team and he is able to compete, although that's a decision for the coaching staff," Zubizarreta said on Barca's website (www.fcbarcelona.es). "We will not forego having the best possible team on the pitch."

Barcelona will have the return match on May 1, while the winner will face off against Borussia Dortmund or Real Madrid next month in London for the final round.
