Boston Marathon Bomb Attack Sparks Jonathan Papelbon Quote, Former Red Sox Says President Obama Coming To Take Our Guns (VIDEO)

Former Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon made himself look very intelligent on Tuesday in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon explosion, saying how President Obama wants to "take out guns" with all the crazy things going on in the country.

According to the Huffington Post, Papelbon made his remarks the day after the attack and said that Obama wants to come take "our" guns, despite no legislation actually saying that, and that he has stadium security fears, including when he came in through the bleachers at the ballpark on Opening Day. He spoke about where he lived in Boston, which was close to the bombing attack and how he feels about the incident.

"Today's day and age, has gotten so crazy, everything. You know? [There is] all this stuff going on. And, shoot man, Obama wants to take our guns from us and everything," Papelbon said. "And you got this kind of stuff going on? It's just a little bit insane for me, man. I really don't even know how to take it."

Police were in Watertown on Friday after a Thursday night firefight and were searching for one of the two suspects. One died in a firefight on Thursday night and also reportedly had explosives. Papelbon clearly has a good grasp on the gun debate going on Washington DC and his knowledge of Boston is better than most players after being there for so many years.
