Local Watertown resident Andrew Kitzenberg became an accidental journalist on Thursday night, as police engaged in a shootout with the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects, leaving the resident to take pictures and also suffered through the fear as bullet holes entered the wall into his home.
Andrew Kitzenberg witnessed much of the action from his house and relayed his information on Twitter and in the news, with a number of pictures of police, the suspect, as well as the car driving away and the police working on an explosive device. The Thursday night shootout happened after Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and brother Tamerlan robbed a store and shot a police officer.
The suspects got into a shootout with police and one was left dead while the other sped off, which Kitzenberg witnessed from his home. Pictures show the police searching homes, the suspect running off, bullet holes in the wall of his home, as well as backpacks left on the street and a bomb explosion as well. A crashed cop car with windows shot out was posted on Twitter, as were the aftermath of gun fire.
The two were identified after photos and video were released on Thursday from the FBI and while no clear motive has been found, more and more information has been gathered on social media and is being put together by authorities.
