The Masters 2013 Par 3 Contest: Full Schedule, TV Coverage and Tee Times For Augusta National Tradition Since 1960

The Masters are one of the most prestigious tournaments in North America and one of its best and most entertaining traditions is the Par 3 Contest that has been going on for 53 years since the special course was built in 1960.

The tournament will have a number of players, including Rory McIlroy and his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki as his caddy, while golfers will play the nine hole course that has holes that are up to 140 yards in length. Some golfers may want to choke, as the winner of the Par 3 has never won the Masters, although over 70 holes in one have been made during the event.

Golfers are meant to have fun at the contest, which is one reason why Tiger Woods is not playing in it, as he never does. The event will be streamed on Watch ESPN and will air on ESPN from 3 to 5 PM on Wednesday, a day before the first round starts at Augusta National. According to ESPN.com, Art Wall and Gay Brewer have the record for the lowest score, while Sam Snead won the first event.

The tradition will continue along this year with a number of big names and the rest of the field that isn't participating will be on the course preparing for the major on Thursday. The tee times begin at 8 AM on Thursday, with Tiger Woods going just before 11 AM.
