New Dolphins Logo Revealed After Nike Leak By Team CEO As Miami Confirms Design, How Does It Compare To Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys?

The Miami Dolphins have made a big slash this offseason by signing Dannell Ellerbe and Mike Wallace and now the team has done it again, as they have a new logo for the 2013, although no one was supposed to see it yet.

According to ESPN.com, the Miami Dolphins have a new logo that was supposed to debut in April, but after it was leaked last week, the new look was confirmed by chief executive officer Mike Dee on Wednesday. He said that the picture that appeared online and on NFL.com was in fact the new logo.

Jared Odrick posted a picture on Twitter wearing the logo on a new shirt and even though the logo will be officially released later on, the team is using the opportunity to have some fun with it. The change is slight, with the Dolphin ditching the helmet with the M on it. The Jaguars also are using new jerseys this season and the Giants announced that they will use alternate white pants for a few games.

"It was leaked by somebody at Nike," Dee told reporters. "We had always had a plan to kind of roll it out over a 30-day period, so we're going to start rolling it out. But the logo is only one part of the announcement. It's a complete re-branding of the team."

The team is giving out shirts as part of a contest, as one fan can be the first to get an official logo on a giveaway.

"There's a lot of history in this in that we went back to colors, the true aqua and the true orange that were part of the first 29 years of the franchise's history," Dee said. "But the logo design itself and some other things you'll see respect that tradition in the past but also have an eye on the 21st century Dolphins."
