Chelsea Transfer News: Falcao Shocks Blues By Telling Atletico Madrid He Will Not Be Moving to Stamford Bridge in the Summer

The Radamel Falcao to Chelsea saga just rumbles on.

A day after a report from Spain claimed Falcao was on his way to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea held a secret meeting with Atletico Madrid, it is now being reported that the Colombian has told his club he will not be joining the Blues in the summer.

Falcao has been linked with Chelsea for quite a while now, and it was widely believed the Atletico striker would make a lucrative move at the end of the season, with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain also interested.

Spanish TV station Punto Pelota said in their show that the Blues had talked with Atletico and had agreed a deal in which they would pay £5 million ($7.5 million) more than the release clause.

However, Spanish daily newspaper Marca now claims Falcao told Atletico, before he left to represent Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers, that he has no intention of signing for Chelsea.

The report further suggests the 27-year-old had earlier also told his club that he will not be moving to Real Madrid at the end of the season either.

Atletico have always maintained they intend to keep their star player until his contract expires in 2016, while Falcao himself has said he is extremely happy with his current situation in Spain.

So, if the latest reports turn out to be true, it is looking increasingly likely that Falcao will remain at the Vicente Calderon for yet another season, unless of course someone like a PSG or City agree a deal out of the blue.

Chelsea were always the favorites for the forward's signature, but now it seems like his future is still very much up in the air, with the saga looking like it will continue on well into the summer.
