New York Jets Rumors: Darrelle Revis Wants To Remain With The Jets? Plans To Work Things Out With Owner Woody Johnson

As the New York Jets continue to figure out how they'll plan to handle the future of star cornerback Darrelle Revis, new reports indicate that their decision may have been made for them.

According to Steve Serby of the New York Post, sources close to Revis say that the defensive star wants to work things out with New York:

Sources close to Darrelle Revis told The Post last night that Revis wants to stay a Jet.

Wants owner Woody Johnson-more than Arthur Blank of the Falcons, more than Jed York of the 49ers, more than anyone-to show him the money.

"He wants to remain a Jet," the source said. "He has never asked to be traded."

Revis has not given up on the idea that Johnson will appease his lame-duck head coach, Rex Ryan, and find a way to keep him in green and white rather than trade him. In Revis' mind, apparently, the grass isn't necessarily greener elsewhere, and neither is the money.

It seems obvious that Revis still has some belief in team being a playoff contender if the team added a few new weapons, he enjoys having Ryan as a head coach and he loves being in the New York area and apart of the Jets' fan base.

Even if Revis may or may not want to remain a member of the Jets, he is going to want a lucrative contract extension, and the Jets will likely want to see whether or not he is fully recovered from a torn ACL this season before making that kind of commitment to him.

The Jets' are currently in rebuilding mode as it is-- the picks and cap space they would gain by moving Revis would go a long way toward pressing the restart button and building the foundation for the future.
