Paul Bearer Dies: WWE Manager of Undertaker Bill Moody Passes Away at 58 After Entertaining Career in Wrestling (VIDEO)

WWE manager Paul Bearer, whose real name is Bill Moody, passed away on Tuesday at age 58 after spending nearly 40 years in the wrestling and entertainment business.

According to a statement released by WWE.com, the organization said that William Moody died on Tuesday evening and that he is survived by two sons, Michael and Daniel. Moody was in the wrestling business for many years and started in the WWE in 1991 as manager of the Undertaker.

Bearer played a former funeral director and he helped the Undertaker win the WWE title before managing his brother Kane later on. He left the WWE in 2002 as a full-time performer, but has appeared at other events since.

"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, a.k.a. Paul Bearer," the company said in a statement.

The cause of death was not yet released. Before he came to the WWE, he was the wrestling manager for Percy Pringle.

"Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years. Our deepest condolences go out to Moody's family, friends and fans," the statement read.
