Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: Quarterback Lacks Fundamentals According To Jim Zorn In Arizona, Hall of Fame Wide Receiver Steve Largent Calls Out Tebow

Tim Tebow is known for his unique throwing motion and quarterback skills, which prompted former Washington Redskins head coach and current Arizona Cardinals assistant to say that Tebow lacks fundamentals.

According to CBSLocal.com in Washington, Seattle Seahawks Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve Largent, who was featured on Junkies' "Table Manners" Tuesday at 11 p.m. on Comcast, said that his former teammate Jim Zorn said that Tebow lacked fundamentals and basic quarterback skills after working with him in Arizona.

Largent said that he spoke to his former Seahawks teammate Zorn and that he gave some interesting first-hand analysis about Tebow's quarterback skills.

"According to Jim, the guy that needs to be praying is Tim Tebow," Largent told the Junkies.

The New York Jets have actively been shopping Tebow while at the NFL scouting combine, but so far no teams have proven to be willing trade partners. Last season the Jets barely used Tebow after acquiring him from the Denver Broncos, using him for just 73 plays, in which he gained 102 yards on the ground and completed six of eight passes.

"(Zorn) just felt like Tim doesn't have a lot of real solid basics in quarterbacking skills," Largent continued. "And in Jim's opinion, he's had three years in the NFL without a real solid quarterback coach. In Jim's opinion, there's about eight or nine passes you have to be able to throw in order to play at a confident level in the NFL and Tim can throw about three of them."

Tebow was at his best in Denver when coach John Fox worked the offense around him and he led the team to the playoffs after going 8-5 in the regular season. He led Denver to a number of come from behind wins and he also led the team to a thrilling overtime victory against the Steelers in the playoffs in overtime.

Largent said that while Zorn said he respects Tebow's work ethic and fitness, that he lacks certain fundamentals to play the quarterback position.

"Nobody had ever talked to Tim about that before, and talked to him about fundamentals and footwork and how you release a ball," Largent said. "I do not know either how you can possibly play three years in the NFL and play college football and never have anybody in there talking to you about the fundamentals of playing football at quarterback. But Jim says he hasn't had anybody."

Tebow has been in the news for his possible trade rumors as well as his cancelled appearance at a church whose pastor has come out against President Obama, homosexuality and other religions, including Mormonism. Tebow cancelled his appearance at the church after an outcry from the media.
