New York Jets Rumors: Darrelle Revis Ready To Play After Injury. Will It Be With The Jets?

There is certainly plenty of talk surrounding New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, questioning whether or not he will return to New York or be traded. While the team he will play for is in question, his ability to play after sustaining a knee injury is no longer a worry. A personal trainer working close with Revis said he wil be good to get back to work in April, no question.

Revis suffered a torn ACL seven months ago after going down in Week 3 of the season and has been rehabbing the injury ever since with trainer Will Sullivan. Sullivan has worked closely with Revis throughout most of his career and has been helping him through most of the injury-rehab process. Sullivan believes that Revis's theraby is going well and will be fine to resume activity in April.

"For me, I think I'm thumbs up in April, I'm going to get the green light in April," Sullivan said.

Sullivan told The Star-Ledger that Revis's surgery was a success and he has had no setbacks that could throw off his recovery time. Revis has not done too much heavy activity other than the required rehab exercises. The trainors plan to begin Revis with sprints and then increase the activity from there. His past injuries with his hamstring has impacted the way he is rehabbing this knee injury.

"You've got to be careful with him because you've got a history of bad hamstrings. I remember when, I think when he was at Pitt and training for the draft, we were running around and it doesn't take much for him to start straining that hamstring," Sullivan said.

Once Revis is back to full-strength, the question will be whether he returns to the New York Jets or ends up being traded. Revis is set to earn $6 million in 2013 and then become a free agent. A previous contract provents the Jets from putting the franchise tag on Revis so they would have to pay him. Revis has two previous holdouts to his name and there is no doubt he could holdout a third time if the Jets refuse to pay him his desired salary.

Coming off of injury, will the Jets be willing to give such a large commitment to Revis while already being on the heavier end of the salary cap? Revis was recently spotted wearing an Atlanta Falcons, so speculation has already begun that he has played his final game in New York.
