The first day of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show went down on Monday night, with a number of groups being judged in the first part of the competition. The second day gets underway with Sporting, Working and Terrier breeds.

The judging went down all day to set up the finals on Monday night, with the Hound, Toy, Non Sporting and Herding breeds looking to battle for Best In Show. Westminster started off with a over 2,500 entries and started to get narrowed down all Monday.

In the hounds group, American Foxhound Pandora's Box won the Best of Breed award over Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, a Basset Hound, and Maggie May, a Petits Bassets Griffons Vendeen.

"She walked in there and said, 'This is my house,' " said Lisa Miller to the NY Times, a co-owner of Jewel, whose official name is Kiarry's Pandora's Box. "She's everything they should be. She's cocky, an attitude, a tomboy princess."

The Toys group, which has some smaller versions of larger breeds, was won by Affenpinscher Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, defeating a Miniature Pinscher and a Pomeranian. In fourth place was Tag I'm It, a pug dog.

The non-sporting group is one to watch for enthusiasts and was won by a Bichon Frise named Pillowtalk, who defeated a Standard Poodle, French Bulldog and a Tibetan Spaniel to have the chance to be the Best In Show. The final group was for the herding group, which was won by an Old English Sheep Dog named Swagger.
