Baltimore Ravens free safety Ed Reed kisses the Vince Lombardi Trophy after his team defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL Super Bowl XLVII football game in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 3."

The Baltimore Ravens were in high spirits after winning Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday night and the team had so much fun that for a time they misplaced and lost track of the championship Lombardi Trophy.

According to Fox Sports, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh picked up the trophy to open his Monday morning press conference with the media and joked, "We hadn't seen this since last night. We thought we'd lost it."

ABC2.com in Baltimore reports that Harbaugh wasn't really joking and that for a time the team did not know where the trophy was located. According to Kevin Byrne, the team's vice president of communications, when the team went to team owner Steve Bisciotti's party on Sunday night, the trophy "didn't make it to the party," he said to the Washington Post.

The report says that the trophy was not lost, but that someone lost track of it, meaning it was Baltimore's possession, just that no one knew where it was. According to Fox, the trophy reportedly was safely on the team's charter back to Baltimore and being used as a prop in photos by Monday afternoon.

The Ravens official Twitter wrote: "The Lombardi Trophy was passed around the entire #Ravens team plane. Coaches, players, staff. Really cool!"

The Post said that security personnel had some confusion about the location of the trophy and that it was never lost, just misplaced.

Here is some information about the Super Bowl and the victory by the Ravens over the San Francisco 49ers:

-This Super Bowl featured the longest-ever run for a touchdown by a quarterback after Colin Kaepernick took home a 15-yard touchdown in fourth quarter. This comes after Kaepernick set the all-time record for rushing yards by a quarterback in any game against the Green Bay Packers in January.

-San Francisco was the most potent offensive team to lose the Super Bowl.

Only three other teams in Super Bowl history racked up an average of 7.8 yards per play, as the 49ers did. All three of those teams won by at least 30 points. The 49ers are the only ones to lose when putting up that stat.

-Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco tied Tom Brady for the most playoff wins in his first five seasons with nine and is now the top place-holder in victories over the past five years, playoffs and regular season combined, with 63 wins.

-Jacoby Jones showed off his speed and gave everyone a chance to see the longest kickoff return and play in Super Bowl history with his pre-blackout (literally) 108-yard kick return. He also became the first player to have a receiving and return touchdown in the championship game.

-An obvious one, but, it's the first time two bothers coached against each other with Jim and John Harbaugh.

-John and the Ravens attempted the first fake field goal in Super Bowl history. It did not work.

-The first-ever blackout and power delay in Super Bowl history.

-It is now two years in a row that a black general manager won the Super Bowl, with Jerry Reese with the Giants and now Ozzie Newsome. Makes it even more glaring that no African-American coaches or general managers were hired for 15 openings after this NFL season.

-Flacco joined a list of quarterbacks to win Super Bowl MVPs with no picks in the playoffs, including Joe Montana and Steve Young. He finished with 11 touchdowns and no picks. He also held true the statement that all quarterbacks who entered the Super Bowl with eight TDs and no picks all won the Super Bowl and the MVP award.

-First time ever a team did not win the Super Bowl despite having a 300 yard passer, 100 yard rusher, two 100 yard receivers, as the 49ers did that on Sunday.

-The 49ers are now 5-1 in the Super Bowl, while the Ravens are 2-0. Amazingly, Kaepernick's interception was the first thrown by a 49ers quarterback in the Super Bowl. Like EVER.

-Also a little nugget.

Kapernick and 49ers had seven pass attempts in the red zone, completed zero. Alex Smith had 70 percent completion rate in red zone when he played in the 2012 season. Also, Flacco threw two redzone touchdowns.
