Cal State Fullerton assistant coach Monica Quan was reportedly murdered on Sunday night along with her fiancé, Keith Lawrence.

According to news reports from NBCSports.com and CBS, Quan and her fiancé Keith Lawrence, who is a security guard, were found shot to death in their white Kia which was in the parking lot of their new apartment building in Irvine near the school.

From Steve Chen on Twitter: "Dang... Sad day. Confirmed that #CSF WBB assistant Monica Quan murdered over the weekend with her fiancé."

Quan was 28-years-old and played college basketball at Long Beach State and Concordia University. According to the report, police are looking at the deaths as a double-homicide and there are no current suspects or motives.

"It doesn't appear they were robbed," Irvine Police Lt. Julia Engen told the Orange County Register. "There's no obvious motive."

The school released a statement following the news:

We can confirm that the information we have at this time indicates that Cal State Fullerton Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Monica Quan was a victim in what law enforcement is characterizing as an apparent double homicide in Irvine.

The loss of any member of the Titan family causes our community great grief, but the loss of one of our own under these circumstances is indeed tragic and heartwrenching.

We hope that Monica's family and friends will feel and be comforted by our support during this difficult time. Counselors will be working with our staff and student-athletes as we all begin to struggle with the suddenness of losing such a special member of our university."

According to the Daily Mail, Quan's father is a former LAPD captain and the two recently moved into the apartment where the car had been parked when they were killed. The two met as undergraduates at Concordia while playing at the university's basketball team. The new condo complex reportedly has apartments that sell up to $1 million.

The Mail reports that she attended Walnut High School, where she set a record for the most three-pointers during a season and a game. "Her father Randal Quan, was the first Chinese-American captain in the Los Angeles Police Department according to the Register. Lawrence, a business graduate, was an armed public-safety officer at USC and had graduated from Ventura County Sheriff's Academy."

The school released a statement and said they would cooperate with police in any way possible to help the investigation.
