Reggie Bush (22) will likely be a focal point of the upcoming season of Hard Knocks."

His college days are long gone. His days with the New Orleans Saints are long gone and playing in Florida will also be in the past as the latest rumors have star running back Reggie Bush unlikely to return to the Miami Dolphins for the 2013 season.

Bush and the Dolphins never sat down to discuss a new contract and a separation between the two seems more than likely. Bush spent his last two season with the Dolphins, but it doesn't seem like he'll be back for more. The Dolphins approached star wide out Brian Hartline, but never sat with Bush to talk contract extension at the end of the season.

You would think if the Dolphins don't want to sign a player, then the situation is pretty bad. Luckily for Bush, the Dolphins are just being penny pinchers. Bush is expected to hit free agency in attempt to break bank. Not Joe Flacco money, but he would want more than the Dolphins are willing to pay as Bush is seeking a larger contract.

Bush made $4.5 million last season and in the past two years rushed just a little over 2,000 yards combined. In 2012, he missed the 1,000 rushing mark by 14 yards and hit the end zone six times.

Who could use Bush's help in the running game?

Well immediately, the Detroit Lions, the Cincinnati Bengals and even maybe the Green Bay Packers.

The Lions have an amazing passing game, but could use some help on the ground to balance out their offense. Same could be said about the Bengals as A.J. Green and Andy Dalton are dialing up some incredible numbers as their chemistry builds.

This past season, the Lions rushed for just 100 yards per game for 23rd in the league. Meanwhile, Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson had the third best passing game in the league as Megatron broke the single-season receiving record after totalling 1,964 yards.

The Bengals had a better running game as they were 19th in the league rushing for almost 110 per game.

When looking at the Packers, they might have struck gold with the acquisition of DuJuan Harris at the running back position, so signing Bush might be a long shot. During the regular season, they went for 106 yards good for 20th in the league.

It will be interesting to see where Bush lands in 2013. He is still only 27 years old, though it seems like guys have been talking about him for years. Bush is a seven-year veteran and he only gets better with time as both of his seasons with the Dolphins where his best of his career

As Bush is unlikely to return, where else do you think he could land? Share your thoughts in the discussion section below.
