Colin Kaepernick Tattoos Super Bowl Emblem
The left arm of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is shown with his tattoos during Media Day for the NFL's Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Louisiana, January 29, 2013. The 49ers will meet the Baltimore Ravens in the game on February 3. "

Colin Kaepernick is the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback, he received his own podium at the Super Bowl Media Day and he's focused and determined to win his first NFL championship. The 49ers have history at the Super Bowl and he received guidance from a former 49er great, Steve Young.

Deion Sanders ambushed Kaepernick even before he stepped up to his podium. The former Super Bowl champion asked the 49ers' quarterback if he received any phone calls from either Young or Joe Montana, both 49er legends and champions.

Kaepernick responded that Young had told him two words, "Humility and fierce." Kaepernick then said he resonates with both words.

He is absolutely right about that.

Kaepernick has shown humility throughout the whole Alex Smith drama. He replaced the 49ers' eight-year quarterback and handled all the pressure, the publicity and the media.

Kaepernick has never showboated or been too hype about taking over as quarterback. When he's scores, it's a different story as we've seen the QB does not shy away from kissing his guns. In relation to Smith, Kaepernick has used him as a guide and learned from him, showing his humility, but when on the field, the post-touchdown celebrations prove Kaepernick is fierce.

Kaepernick ran for 181 yards against the Green Bay Packers and then reversed his game not running against the Atlanta Falcons and still got the 49ers into the Super Bowl. He proved he can adjust to different defenses and that his team can trust his gameplan.

The Falcons probably thought he was going to rush throughout the game, however, Kaepernick showed up prepared and finished the game 16/21 233 passing yards and a TD. Kaepernick only rushed for 21 yards in that game, but didn't throw any interceptions.

One thing he takes pride in is being prepared. He possesses enough natural skills, but Kaepernick doesn't take this game for granted and said he's not nervous about the game.

If he's ready, he won't have any reason to be nervous. It will be interesting to see how he handles his first Super Bowl. So far, he's answering all the questions confidently and looks focused for Sunday.
