Ndamukong Suh saves a man after he falls into a pool and it happens to be comedian Louis Anderson. Maybe Suh isn't the dirtiest player in the NFL after all?
Detroit Lions lineman Ndamukong Suh is not known as the nicest player in football, but ask comedian Louie Anderson about that and he might give a different answer.
According to TMZ.com, Suh and Anderson are set to appear on "Splash" a reality show diving series and during production of the show, Anderson fell into the water of a pool and was rescued by the Detroit Lions star after he could not get back out.
Writes TMZ: "Sources close to the production tell TMZ, Louie - who's a contestant on the show - was practicing his dives on Wednesday when he became a little too bushed to pull himself up the ladder ... falling back into the water again and again.
We're told Louie eventually had to be rescued by Suh and divemaster Greg Louganis - who physically lifted the foundering funnyman to the poolside. Louie then sat coughing up water for several seconds."
TMZ writes that Anderson's representatives say the actor is "feeling great, loving the challenge."
Suh teamed up with an Olympian in Louganis to save a comedian in Anderson. Suh is not known as the nicest player on the field after getting fined for stomping and kicking Matt Schaub's groin, but this could go a long way into fixing up his image a little bit.
Following the Thanksgiving incident with Schaub, the quarterback said after the game:
"You don't want a player like that. The stuff that he stands for and the type of player he is, that's not Houston Texan-worthy," Schaub said, according to ESPN.com. "That's not what we're about as a football team, as individuals, collectively as a group, we're not that type of person."
Suh avoided a suspension for the play, but it was not his first time having discipline issue with the league, as he was suspended last year for one game after stomping on an opposing player during Thanksgiving. He also has had issues off the field, including when he was cited for reckless driving as well as back while he was suspended for stomping, Suh got into a one-car accident while home in Oregon.
According to the Seattle Times from December 2011: "He wasn't drunk and wasn't driving crazy or anything. He wasn't a jerk," said Sgt. Peter Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau. "I think he stomped on the gas when he was going around a taxi and lost the back end, spun around and hit a tree and a light pole and a (drinking) fountain. No injuries to anybody and he didn't hit any other cars."
Suh is one of the most talented players in the NFL, but he can rub people the wrong way. This season he recorded 35 tackles with eight sacks and two passes defended. Suh will appear on the show no Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 PM on ABC.
