Bradley Coopers rumors abound as news that Silver Linings Playbook actor will play Lance Armstrong.

Bradley Cooper is one of the most in-demand actors working in Hollywood right now after starring in such hit films as "The Hangover" and "Silver Linings Playbook". Just don't' tell him he's playing Lance Armstrong.

Rumors started coming out last week that the actor was set to portray Lance Armstrong in an upcoming film, but Cooper used the SAG awards to quash that talk.

According to Yahoo.com, Cooper said in an interview with Access Hollywood at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards that he would not be playing the part. When asked about it by a reporter, Cooper answered with a "no" regarding the disgraced cyclist.

"Oh my god, that's so nuts!" he said, amused by the chatter.

Cooper told BBC News last Tuesday that he'd "be interested" in taking on the role of Armstrong. "I think he's fascinating," he said on the British outlet's Manchester-based morning show.

"I was in Manchester, doing 'BBC Morning,' the guy out of the blue said, 'Would you want to play Lance Armstrong in a movie?' I was like 'Yeah, he is fascinating. What a fascinating character' and that was it... I had no idea J.J. Abrams had the rights," Cooper explained to the Post.

The film is set to be based on a New York Times sports writer Juliet Macur's proposal for a book called Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong, with J.J. Abrams' company Bad Robot and Paramount set to product after obtaining the rights. Abrams confirmed to Entertainment Tonight over the weekend that he's in talks with Cooper about starring in a biopic and that the actor emailed him expressing interest.

"I had no idea what [(he interviewer) was talking about. I didn't even know that J.J. has the rights, I had no idea," Cooper said in his Access Hollywood chat.

Cooper's rep declined comment.

The actor made some other headlines this weekend when the New York Post reported that singer Taylor Swift had asked his "Silver Linings" co-star Jennifer Lawrence to see if Cooper was interested.

"It was a little awkward for Bradley. Jennifer came to him and told him that Taylor was interested in getting together. He had to politely decline, knowing full well that Jennifer and Taylor are friends," a "source" told RadarOnline.

The "Silver Linings Playbook" actor laughed at the rumor during an interview with "Extra" at the SAG awards yesterday: "Crazy, never met her, that's not even true at all... that's completely made up."

Cooper will next star in The Place Beyond the Pines, co-starring Ryan Gosling, as well as The Hangover Part III in the summer.
