Even though the Alabama Crimson Tide won the BCS National Championship game, no one gained more that night than Katherine Webb.

The girlfriend of quarterback AJ McCarron was featured on the screen early in the game and after a quote from broadcaster Brent Musburger about her beauty, the Miss Alabama USA winner took off on social media. She gained thousands of Twitter followers and was a media sensation over the next week.

"I'm telling you, you quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women,' 73-year-old commentator Brent Musburger said as the camera stayed on Webb. 'What a beautiful woman."

"Wow!" former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit added. "AJ's doing some things right down in Tuscaloosa."

ESPN later apologized for the comments, but it did not seem to bother Webb.

She turned her new found fame into a gig working for CBS at the Super Bowl and now she will move on to the logical next stage, reality television and a modeling career. Webb reportedly may appear on the television show "Dancing With the Stars" according to the Daily Mail. Webb also was overheard telling fans while at New York restaurant that she plans to move to the city full-time to pursue a full-time modeling career.

The 23-year-old also will be featured in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition and also met with Donald Trump, who runs the Miss USA competition.

About the CBS work, she said the job is "an honor and a dream come true."

Following her overnight success, Webb spoke to Yahoo! Sports' Dan Wetzel about McCarron and the ESPN comments.

"That means he's a family guy, a mama's boy," Webb said with a laugh to Yahoo! Sports. "And I'm totally good with that. It's that personality that attracted me to him in the first place. It was never about his status on the team."

Social media was buzzing about Webb and she continued to be a web presence all throughout the celebration for Alabama, taking some of the shine away from McCarron and the Tide, but not for too long.

"My phone is dead," she told Yahoo! Sports, a bit stunned at it all. "My followers went from 2,300 this morning to 96,000 by the end of the night. I don't know if I should even check now, I don't know what is going on."
