A gamely fightback in the second half was not enough to help Liverpool salvage at least a draw against Manchester United last week; on Saturday, manager Brendan Rodgers will be keen to see his side get back to winning ways against a Norwich side struggling for form.
Liverpool are in as strong a position as they have been this season, in eighth on 31 points from 22 games, showing there has been some steady progress since the start of the campaign.
Daniel Sturridge, going by his first two games, has added that extra bit of quality which was needed up front, and the Reds will be keen to see the former Chelsea player continue his bright start, in his first home game at Anfield.
"Daniel came in here and the spotlight was on him because everyone knew we needed someone up there to help Luis (Suarez) and get goals," Rodgers told reporters.
"He's scored a couple of goals in two games. He'll be very close for the weekend. It's just a case of making sure he's prepared well and right. He's enjoying every minute of being here and if I feel he's fit and in good condition for the weekend, then he'll play.
"He is fitting into the group really well. It's been difficult and perhaps frustrating for him because he hasn't been at the top level of his fitness yet, which is why we had to put him on the bench and bring him into the game (against United).
"But his performance in the second half -- and his 55 minutes at Mansfield -- showed he can be a very, very good player for us."
Rodgers is expected to go for two men up front, similar to the formation deployed in the second half against United, with Suarez roaming free, looking for pockets of space to get into.
Norwich, who are winless in four Premier League games, will be happy to give the majority of possession to Liverpool, while looking to hit the home side on the counter-attack. Chris Hughton's men are very difficult to break down, and Liverpool will need to be at their attacking best to find a way past the Canaries' compact and assured defence.
"They went on a very good run and beat some top teams, and then have been unfortunate in one or two games not to get the result," Rodgers said of Liverpool's opponents.
"Chris has done a terrific job because it wasn't easy for him going in after Paul (Lambert), who had been there for three seasons and done a brilliant job.
"After that early spell of games, he really got to work on the team and changed the structure of it. That hasn't been emphasised so much -- he made tactical changes to make them harder to beat. It's a great credit to him and the work that he's done there.
"They've got great enthusiasm -- players like Grant Holt have come into the top-flight late and are making up for lost time. Their effort and commitment, as well as their quality, is very high.
"But the concentration is very much on ourselves. We know that when we're at the top of our game, playing well and with intensity, we're hard to beat."
Liverpool are still without Jose Enrique, while Norwich have no new injury worries to be concerned about, with forward Grant Holt expected to lead the line from the start after only coming off the bench last week due to a hamstring problem.
