Mike Piazza was one of all candidates on the 2013 Hall of Fame ballot who fell short of making it to Cooperstown. However, Piazza plans on clearing his name in a book that is set to release in February.

These are the numbers Piazza compiled in an 16-year career.

427 home runs, 1,335 RBI .308 BA .377 OBP .922 OPS

He hit 30 or more homers nine times and drove 100 RBI or more six times in his career. Piazza is the all-time leader in homers for catchers, and though never categorized as a defensive catcher, he will go down as one of the best catchers in the history of the game.

He was the Rookie of the Year winner in 1993 after posting a .319 batting average with 35 home runs, 112 RBI and .370 OBP. Piazza was close to winning the MVP twice in his career while with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but fell short to Ken Caminiti in 1996 and Larry Walker in 1997.

Piazza scored 57.8 percent of votes placing him just about 20 short of the Hall of Fame.

His co-author Lonnie Wheeler believes the 12-time all-star catcher is clean and told the press, "Anybody who's looking for Mike's answer to PED questions will find it there."

This book, titled "Long Shot", is due for release on Feb. 12. Ladies, if your boyfriend, husband or man of interest is a defender of Mike Piazza, then this book would make the perfect Valentines Day gift.

No proof of Piazza's PEDs use has even been proven, his image is simply tainted as rumors swirled around the game. If clean, Piazza had the bad luck of playing in a very questionable time in baseball.
