Chris Rainey of the Pittsburgh Steelers will have to find work elsewhere. The running back was arrested after a dispute over a cell phone turned physical with his girlfriend. The Steelers almost immediately cut ties with Rainey following the arrest.

The Steelers organization has zero tolerance for this demeanor and general manager Kevin Colbert went on record saying, "Chris Rainey's actions this morning were extremely disappointing. "Under the circumstances and due to this conduct, Chris will no longer be a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers."

Ouch, pretty strict huh? This isn't the first time a team has cut ties with their players after an arrest and they were big time players. Remember the New York Giants and Plaxico Burress? The Atlanta Falcons and Michael Vick?

The crimes the latter committed are no comparison to Rainey's actions, but they are punishable nonetheless.

Rainey and his girlfriend were having an argument over his cell phone. Things became physical after Rainey tried pulling her out of his roommate's vehicle. Once he pulled her out, Rainey slapped her and she tried getting away. They both fell to the ground, but officials didn't find any visible injuries.

This isn't Rainey's first incident involving the police. Back in his University of Florida days, Rainey was charged with a misdemeanor in stalking.

Now, the 5'9" 180 pound back will have to find work elsewhere. In 2012, he rushed the ball 26 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Rainey also showed great ability to catch the ball totalling 14 receptions for 60 yards. However, he did prove careless fumbling the ball four times.

As you can see from the video above, he was also pretty decent at bringing the ball back.
