Both Liverpool and Fulham will look to bounce back from disappointing defeats last weekend when they take on each other in their English Premier League game.
Liverpool were disappointing against Aston Villa last Saturday, going down 3-1 to the struggling side, with Christian Benteke running riot. Fulham, meanwhile, were equally poor against Queens Park Rangers, allowing the London side to pick up their first win of the campaign.
Fulham manager Martin Jol admitted he had talked to the players following the defeat to QPR, and wanted his side to put in a better performance against Liverpool at Anfield.
"I was very annoyed, irritated that we played the way we did against QPR -- it was a derby game," Jol said. "We spoke about it. It's not as if we went to this game and took it for granted, that they had not won this season and it will be easy.
"We said it will be difficult. We really thought we were up for it. We won nine tackles in 90 minutes. Our average is 17.
"We spoke about it in a meeting -- it was a bit longer than normal, and I think they understood we need to come up with not only better results but we have to show we can play with passion and our hearts."
Jol is hopeful Mamadou Diarra and Bryan Ruiz can return to training next week, while Sascha Riether is expected to be available for the Liverpool game. Steve Sidwell, though, is suspended.
"My first worry is the players and to get them back and first we need to overcome this game against Liverpool," Jol told the club's official website. "We'll try to do that because we still have one or two solutions with players who can play in a different position. We have a little a problem in midfield, everybody can see that because Sidwell is not there.
"The only one who plays midfield who was here last year is Chris Baird, and last season he was a defender. But we trained on Thursday and we tried to do a certain shape with certain players, and I believe we have still got the players to do a job."
For Liverpool, Jose Enrique is available along with Nuri Sahin.
Expected lineups: Liverpool: Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Downing; Lucas, Gerrard, Allen; Shelvey, Suarez, Enrique.
Fulham: Schwarzer; Riether, Hangeland, Hughes, Riise; Duff, Sidwell, Baird, Richardson, Berbatov; Rodallega.
