The NFL's top-rated passer, Robert Griffin III, was back on the practice field Wednesday, three days after spraining his right knee during an overtime won over the Baltimore Ravens.

He took part in the full stretch routine with no apparent problems, but began favoring his right leg at times when he began planting and throwing, adding a slight hop after some passes.

While his knee might not be 100 percent, Griffin's showmanship remains intact. At one point between drills he turned to wave at the group of reporters watching his every move.

Griffin suffered a mild lateral collateral ligament sprain as a result of a hit by defensive tackle Haloti Ngata at the end of a 13-yard scramble late in regulation of the 31-28 victory.

Though his injury is has him listed as a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, his father told USA Today Sports on Tuesday that his son will start on Sunday.

"He's doing great,'' Robert Griffin II told USA TODAY Sports. "He definitely said he plans to start. I haven't seen him (the last two days). But he told me (today) everything has gone well.

"He's doing rehabilitation as far as the impact pain working with that. Monday he said he felt really good. Today he felt better. Every day he's getting better. Monday he had no problems and throughout the workout, he had no problems.

"Hopefully, he'll let the running back do all the running. I was with him, so I knew he was OK. There was some immediate swelling. But they took care of the pain management.''

But if Griffin is unable to play, fellow rookie Kirk Cousins will get the start for the Redskins who are 7-6 and in the playoff hunt for a wild card spot.

Washington has won four straight and sits one game behind the first-place New York Giants in the NFC East.
