As the Cleveland Indians continue working as a part of a blockbuster, rumors have them reportedly interested in the Los Angeles Dogers' shortstop Dee Gordon.

It is all insurance in case the Indians move their All-Star shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who is currently a part in a three, four or five-team deal that would land Cabrera in Arizona and send Justin Upton to Texas.

For the Dodgers, Gordon has become an expendable piece.

He was fairly active until July of 2012.

Mixed in with injury and struggles, Gordon did not play a big role in the Dodgers second half of the season.

A notorious base stealer, though only in the majors for the past two seasons, he is built for speed and has the potential to be a solid defender.

I use the word potential loosely.

In 133 games played at shortstop, Gordon has committed 28 errors.

Ultimately, this means he is really great at stealing bases swiping 56 bases and being caught 17 times.

In 2012, however, his problem was getting on base and hitting. What good is a basestealer if he can't get on base?

He hit .228 and sported a .280 OBP.

As for the Indians, it would be a downgrade offensively, but they could give Gordon consistent playing time and allow him to continue growing.
