Matt Forte is at a specific point in his career where he needs to be with a team that can utilize his skills the best but also give him an opportunity at greatness, and winning a Super Bowl. With that in mind let us examine several teams that could fit that mold perfectly.

The New York Jets: The Jets currently have a team that is devoid of a running back so this would be a perfect fit for Forte. Can the Jets win or get to the Super Bowl by just adding Forte probably not, however the Jets have come together as a unit to look better than ever (in recent memory) and Forte could be a piece of the Jets free agency puzzle.

Dallas Cowboys: If a running back is involved the Dallas Cowboys have been reported to throw their hat in the ring, especially if that back is cheap. This season however I believe the Cowboys will look towards the draft for a running back so every season this will not be an issue. Drafting a Kenneth Dixon late would make sense but going for it all on Ezekiel Elliott may be too ambitious for Jerry and the Cowboys.

Even if the Cowboys do draft a running back they will probably look for another veteran on the cheap as last season proved, you can never have enough running backs. With Forte in the mix the Cowboys offense would instantly have a better flow and more consistency, couple that with a solid draft pick and Darren McFadden and the Cowboys could have a running game people get excited about.

Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals will see Chris Johnson become a free agent and that might be a good thing, as Forte might be a better fit. Forte is a workhorse and will allow David Johnson to come in on passing downs. Forte can also be a passing target and can make big plays catching the ball out of the backfield. The Cardinals relied on their passing game way to heavily during their playoff game with the Panthers and if they had Forte they could have controlled the clock a bit better than they did.

New England Patriots: This is the perfect place for Forte. Brady can throw to him out of the backfield; he wouldn't even need to come off the field unless he had too. Plus a sound running game added to this Patriots offense means one thing, a Super Bowl berth. The Patriots will get to the post season regardless of who they pick up in free agency or in the draft but adding Forte would give this offense a whole new dimension and some insurance for free agent LaGarrette Blount and the recuperating Dion Lewis.
