Chicago Bears Rumors and News: Where Will Matt Forte End Up In Free Agency?

Feb 05, 2016 03:52 PM EST

The Chicago Bears and Matt Forte are coming to an end of an era as Forte who is now a free agent will likely move on from the team.

The Bears have been a middling franchise for some time now and Forte has been the face of it. He has been the only constant on the Bears roster however now with the emergence of Ka'Deem Carey and Jeremy Langford, the Bears feel like they can move on to the cheap younger options already on the roster.

Forte has only missed 8 games in his 128 game career and at 30 years old is still one of the most productive running backs in the league.

It would not surprise me to see Forte excel with a team that has a fantastic offensive line. In 2015 Forte recorded 218 rushing attempts, 898 yards, 4.1 yards per carry, and 4 touchdowns. The Bears have way more than enough cap space to resign Forte however his cap hit would hover around $9,200,000.

Teams that could be interested in Forte would be the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, and the New England Patriots. As far as a new team for Forte is concerned the Cowboys and Patriots would be the best destination for his specific set of skills.
