The Washington Redskins have been moving away from Alfred Morris all season long so it does not come as a shock if they do not resign him in free agency.

Morris saw a lot of his carries get vultured by Matt Jones and Chris Thompson. Jones looked to be the most comfortable back behind operating in the Redskins offense and was the most productive throughout the season. Morris failed to gain over 1,000 yards on the ground for the first time this season. He also averaged only 3.7 yards per carry, and recorded a single touchdown.

This was by far his worst year and at 27 he has an opportunity to start fresh somewhere else. Morrishas played in every game for the Redskins for the past 4 years so his durability is unquestioned. He also has had over 250 carries except for 2015 his least productive year. The Redskins never figured out how to run the football either, they struggled with it all season long which ended up culminating in a loss against the Packers in the playoffs.

Morris should be fairly affordable thanks to his age and his down season, and this could make him a big target for a lot of cap strapped teams in need of a workhorse running back. Teams like the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, and the New York Jets could all be utilizing Morris's services in the 2016 season.
