The Cleveland Browns may consider moving on from Johnny Manziel this offseason and if that happens, the Dallas Cowboys could be a potential landing spot. Hue Jackson reportedly wants a new quarterback and that could mean the end for Manziel in Cleveland.

Manziel had an up and down season in Cleveland with off the field issues and inconsistent play and that could put him on the outside looking in for next season. According to ESPN.com, Jackson took the job in Cleveland with the idea that the team would be willing to move on from Manziel. The Akron Beacon-Journal reports that Jackson has made some comments in recent interviews that hint that the team will look for a new quarterback in the draft this year.

While that doesn't mean Manziel will get released or traded, it likely means that his chances of starting in Cleveland are over. The team may take some time in deciding what to do with Manziel, as Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown and owner Jimmy Haslam both have made comments that make it sound like a decision is nowhere near complete about the quarterback. Haslam reportedly said that the relationship with Manziel can be "fixed," while Brown said that the team is "not in a panic to make a decision" about Manziel right now.

Yahoo Sports reported earlier in the season that Manziel would like to end up in Dallas with the Cowboys, as Charles Robinson reports that Jerry Jones has long been enamored with Manziel and his potential star power. The Cowboys are likely going to go after a backup quarterback this offseason and there has been speculation that Manziel could be a target if he becomes available. Manziel is a Texas native and likely would welcome a return to the state. The Houston Texans could also potentially be an option for Manziel.

Troy Aikman told SI.com last week that he thinks Jerry Jones will bring in either Robert Griffin or Manziel this offseason if they become available. Griffin is expected to be released by the Redskins this offseason and if that happens, he will have the chance to sign with any team. Manziel has the potential to develop into a better quarterback, but right now it doesn't look like Cleveland will be the place where he can do that.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that new head coach Hue Jackson has not spoken with Manziel yet and while that could be a sign that Manziel is on the outs moving forward, it likely is more about Jackson getting his ducks in a row as he prepares for the offseason. The two surely will talk at some point and that potentially could turn things around for Manziel. As things stand now, it's likely that Manziel ends up out of Cleveland at some point.
