NFL Rumors: Paxton Lynch Wants to Land in Dallas?

Jan 28, 2016 02:37 PM EST

Paxton Lynch is expected to be one of the top prospects in the 2016 NFL draft, but he may not be looking to start as soon as enters the league.

Lynch said he would not mind sitting behind a veteran for a year or two to learn and grow. There are only several teams in that specific position, where they could draft a quarterback for the future but also have him sit for a while.

The Dallas Cowboys immediately jump to the top of that list, however the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers, Green Bay Packers or even the New York Giants fit Lynch's ideal situation. Lynch I am certain would just be happy to be drafted to a team that could fully utilize his talents.

"I know if I got to sit behind somebody like a veteran quarterback, whoever it may be, I know that that would be a great learning experience to develop me mentally and physically in the game, give me a year just to sit back and see how you handle things professionally" Lynch said in an interview to KESN-FM in Dallas.

In reality the list of first round quarterbacks who immediately started and eventually failed is longer than the list of those that were drafted to wait and succeed.
