As the Boston Red Sox look to bounce back after a super disappointing 2012 campagin, Mike Napoli, Nick Swisher and Cody Ross look to be their answers during the offseason.

They are trying to keep up with the much improved Toronto Blue Jays, while you can expect the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays to come back strong in 2013.

Napoli, Swisher and Ross provide veteran, playoff experienced and versatile players.

Ross can play anywhere in the outfield while hitting in multiple spots in the lineup. Napoli can play first base and catch, Meanwhile, Swisher can play right field and also give a hand at first base.

Right now, however, Boston's biggest problems are competitors also trying to acquire these three guys.

Swisher and Ross are being courted by, some say, at least five teams (Braves, Mariners, Giants, Phillies and Orioles).

For Napoli, the main suitors are the Mariners and Texas Rangers.

Ross proved loyal to the city of Boston and its fans after putting up with back-to-back disappointing seasons with the Red Sox. At one point he was easily the most recognizable player in their lineup aside from Jacoby Ellsbury.

That right there shows the struggles the Red Sox went through last season.

This trio would have to get a lot of work done in Boston if they would like to finish anywhere on top in the American League.

Teams have gotten tougher and all those teams that spent money over last season's break are expected to bounce back strong.

With the Christmas season rolling, the Red Sox could give their fans a hell of a holiday gift by getting these guys.

Thinking ahead, just in case things don't work accordingly, the Red Sox would consider offering Adam LaRoche a contract, but Napoli is the man they want.
