The Washington Redskins' season came to an end after losing a first-round playoff game to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday."

The Washington Redskins are likely going to release Robert Griffin III this offseason and if that happens, the quarterback could be a target for teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers.

Griffin does not have a future in Washington after Jay Gruden got behind Kirk Cousins as the starter last season and that likely means he will be released this offseason. Griffin has a $16 million option for the 2016 season and it is highly unlikely that the Redskins will pay him that money. Griffin's future has been up in the air since before last season and now it's looking more and more likely that Griffin will be let go. According to Ian Rapoport at NFL.com, the Redskins are planning to cut RG3 and the main reason he was kept on the roster this past season was at the insistence of owner Dan Snyder.

Either way, Griffin's time in Washington appears to be done and that means other teams will have the chance to sign him once he is released. Earlier in the season NFL.com reported that the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys would have interest in Griffin if he was released by the Redskins. The team could try to trade Griffin, but at this point his trade value is low and other teams may not want to give up draft picks knowing that Griffin likely will be released anyway.

The Eagles no longer have Chip Kelly at the helm and that could change things a bit regarding Griffin, but new head coach Doug Pederson likes a quarterback that can move and Griffin could be a fit if Sam Bradford doesn't return to Philadelphia. Pederson worked well with Alex Smith in Kansas City and he could see Griffin as a player that could be a nice fit for his offense next season.

The Dallas Cowboys have continued to get mentioned as an option for Griffin, as the team is very likely going to add a backup quarterback to develop behind Tony Romp. Whether the team does that in the draft, through a trade or free agency remains to be seen, but Griffin could be an option for the team. According to Charles Robinson at Yahoo Sports, Griffin would "love" to end up in Dallas, while Troy Aikman told SI.com that he thinks Jerry Jones will end up getting Johnny Manziel or Robert Griffin this offseason.

The Houston Texans are another option for Griffin, as the team used four starting quarterbacks last season and would like to develop a player to take over as the starter. Griffin likely will need to prove himself again after how things went in Washington, but he could be a fit for Bill O'Brien as well. The Browns appear ready to move on from Manziel and Griffin could be a target for Hue Jackson as he takes over in Cleveland.
