Philadelphia Eagles Offseason Moves: What Will Team Do In the Offseason? Zach Ertz Signs Contract Extension

Jan 26, 2016 04:36 PM EST

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly in talks with several players on their roster as they try to figure out who to extend and who to release.

The team re-signed Zach Ertz, and the starting tight end stated that he believes that "He (Sam Bradford) wants to be in Philadelphia". This has not been confirmed since the last time Bradford discussed free agency he was believed to be exploring all of his options and actually was not happy with the outcome of what the season and Philadelphia had to offer.

Bradford could just be posturing for a larger contract however he was Chip Kelly's handpicked choice to run this offense. If the Eagles want to remotely stay in the race for the NFC East next season having a quarterback is necessary and without Bradford the Eagles will likely have draft one. Bradford is not the only Eagle currently being negotiated with, right tackle Lane Johnson is currently expected to be resigned at some point this week.

Johnson is one of the foundations of the Eagles offensive line and will have a larger role if they do decide to cut Jason Peters. The Eagles are also in talks with Fletcher Cox who looked to be one of the more important defenders on the Eagles roster. The Eagles primary concern will likely be signing pass rusher Vinny Curry.
