Carolina Panthers Rumors: Thomas Davis Suffers Major Injury, Will He Be Ready For Super Bowl?

Jan 25, 2016 11:46 AM EST

The Carolina Panthers will advance to the Super Bowl however they may be without the skills of one of their best players, Thomas Davis.

Davis suffered a broken right arm in Sunday's NFC Championship tilt and will remain a question mark close until Super Bowl game day. Thomas Davis was attempting to tackle Cardinals tight end Darren Fells when Davis's right arm seemed to get caught between Fells and pro bowl linebacker Luke Kuechly. Fells got jumped prior to the hit forcing most of his weight to fall on Davis's extended arm.

The linebacker immediately clutched at his right arm and headed to the sideline for medical attention. Later Davis was seen walking back into the locker room eventually returning with his arm in a sling. The loss of Davis would be a tremendous blow to this talented Carolina defense that has managed to shut down most of the high powered offenses in the NFL.

If Davis cannot play in Super Bowl 50 rookie linebacker Shaq Thompson would be thrust into a starting role alongside Kuechly for the final game of the NFL season. Davis did vow that he would find a way to play in the Super Bowl and that he has his faith in the Carolina Panthers doctors and training staff.
